School of Business
The School of Business offers the Bachelor of Business Administration with Entrepreneurship, one of the three degree programmes approved when Kamagambo received its Letter of Interim Authority on 15 September 2026. The entrepreneurship component is not an elective bolted on at the end — it is written into the degree, because most graduates in this region will create work as often as they find it.
Bachelor of Business Administration with Entrepreneurship (4 years)
- Entry requirement: KCSE mean grade C+ with at least C in Mathematics and English, or a business diploma with credit.
- Duration: four years, full time; in-service mode available for working professionals.
- Core study: financial and management accounting, principles of management, marketing, business law, economics, organisational behaviour, human resource management, quantitative methods, strategic management and business ethics.
- Entrepreneurship track: opportunity identification, business planning, small-enterprise finance, costing and pricing, and a venture project carried from idea to working plan.
- Graduates work as: accountants and finance officers, managers and administrators, marketing and sales professionals, banking and micro-finance staff, NGO and church administrators — and as founders of their own enterprises.
Why entrepreneurship is compulsory here
Kenya produces far more graduates each year than the formal sector absorbs. A business degree that only prepares a student to apply for jobs is preparing them for a queue. Kamagambo’s programme is built on the assumption that a serious share of graduates will start something — a shop, an agribusiness, a service firm, a school — and that they should leave with the costing, cash-flow and planning skills to do it without losing their capital in the first year.
Diploma and certificate pathways
Diploma programmes (2–3 years, KCSE mean grade C−) and one-year certificates give entry to students not yet qualified for the degree, and diploma holders with credit can progress into the degree programme.
Business with a conscience
Ethics is taught as a core subject rather than a footnote. In an economy where procurement fraud and creative accounting are ordinary temptations, the university’s position is that a graduate who cannot be bought is worth more to an employer than one who merely knows the standards. That is what the Adventist commitment to integrity means in a business school.
