The Research Centre
The Research Centre coordinates applied research at Kamagambo University across education, entrepreneurship, theology and community health. Its work is grounded in the communities around Rongo and Migori County, and it supports both staff scholarship and supervised student research.
What the Centre does
- Coordinates research themes across the Schools of Education, Business and Theology.
- Supervises student research, including final-year projects in all three degree programmes.
- Builds research capacity, a requirement the institution is working toward as it moves from a Letter of Interim Authority to a full charter.
- Shares findings with schools, churches, health facilities and enterprises in the region.
Research themes
- Education — the Competency Based Curriculum, teacher preparation and classroom practice.
- Entrepreneurship — small enterprise, stewardship and livelihoods in western Kenya.
- Theology — Adventist mission, pastoral practice and the history of the church in Nyanza.
- Community health — drawing on the work of the Kamagambo Dispensary.
