University Library

The Kamagambo University Library supports teaching, study and research across education, business and theology with print and digital collections, study space and borrowing services. It is the academic centre of the campus and the first place a new student should learn to use properly.

Collections

• Education — curriculum studies, educational psychology, teaching methods, Competency Based Curriculum materials and the reference works teaching practice depends on.
• Business — accounting, management, marketing, economics, business law and entrepreneurship.
• Theology and religious studies — biblical studies, commentaries, systematic theology, church history, Adventist heritage and homiletics.
• General and reference — dictionaries, encyclopaedias, atlases, Kenyan government publications and periodicals.
• Electronic resources — online databases, e-books and journal access for coursework and research.
• Institutional collection — student and faculty research output, past papers and project reports.

Services

• Borrowing and reservation of books, with loan periods set by student category
• Reference and research help from library staff
• Quiet individual study space and group discussion areas
• Information literacy training — how to search, evaluate and cite sources
• Referencing and plagiarism guidance for coursework and final-year projects
• Photocopying, printing and scanning

Using the library well

New students are introduced to the library during orientation: how the collection is arranged, how to use the catalogue, how to reach electronic resources and what the borrowing rules are. Students working on research projects can book a session with library staff for help with literature searching and referencing — the single most useful hour a final-year student can spend.
